The secret to thriving in leadership with ADHD

Season one: Episode four

This episode we talk to Sam Bramwell, a passionate ADHD coach and founder of The ADHD Leader, a coaching programme for founders and aspiring leaders with ADHD. Sam is joining us to discuss neurodiversity, specifically ADHD, in the workplace and how understanding how it works is the key to flourishing in the workplace and as a leader.

With more people discovering their neurodiversity as they reach adulthood, questions around how to support neurodiverse people in the workplace arise, as well has the differences between neurotypical and neurodivergent leadership.

  • According to a study by the University of California, people with ADHD are more likely to be entrepreneurs, as they tend to have higher levels of creativity, risk-taking, and resilience
  • According to a report by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), people with ADHD are 300% more likely to start their own business than people without ADHD
  • According to a survey by the ADHD Foundation, 39% of senior leaders in UK organisations have symptoms of ADHD, compared to 5% of the general population

We will explore the value of neurodiversity in the workplace, as well as the challenges of navigating a workplace that is not always accommodating or understanding of neurodivergent needs.
