Leeds Beckett University

Embracing digital change and increasing collaboration across students and staff with Microsoft 365.

Leeds Beckett University

Leeds Beckett University supports students from a wide range of backgrounds helping them to become critical thinkers and preparing them for the work environment.

Leeds Beckett University were looking for a clear logical technology road map which would help implement solutions in a way that would deliver core results for both staff and students.

Neil Buckland, Associate Director IT Operations at Leeds Beckett University, stated “Phoenix demonstrated that they wanted to be more than just a supplier, they wanted to listen to actually what our problem was not to impose a solution but to go away think about how they might approach the problems and opportunities that we were pointing out and then have a dialogue about moving that forward. We really wanted to work with a partner so that we could make the most out of a potential investment and actually drive co-creation and collaboration across the University.”

“As a head of subject, I have to deal with some very confidential matters in my day-to-day work. Using Office 365 has been brilliant in terms of that because I can make sure that anything that’s confidential or secure can go up into the cloud and I know there that it’s very safe. So in terms of Office 365 it’s that flexibility, it’s having the files everywhere and anywhere, but also very much about the security, you know they are under lock and key.”

Dr Graham Parton, Head of Subject, Teacher Education, Leeds Beckett University

Phoenix have helped in a number of ways and delivered digital change to the University. Craig Taylor, Director of Cloud Solutions at Phoenix Software, had the following to say of the project:

“We have helped Leeds Beckett University to migrate from Google to Microsoft 365 and that has developed further to help them maximise the full modern desktop experience with Microsoft. They have rolled out Microsoft 365, Windows 10 and we’ve also started to focus on the accessibility features within Microsoft 365 and we’ve seen the impact that it’s had on disability services, distance learning and allowed Leeds Beckett University to actually attract more students.”
