Through our environmental business models and staff network groups, we are dedicated to driving change within our industry, working with our partners and supply chain to support our customers on their journey to sustainable outcomes.
The last few years have been key to our sustainability journey, with the implementation of solar panels, new recycling options, corporate commitments, and more channelling our drive to do good for our people and planet.
But we’re not stopping here. We’ve achieved a lot, but there’s always more that can be done.
Everyone at #TeamPhoenix is passionate about conservation and environmental sustainability. We spoke to a few of those that are most involved in our sustainable actions to explore exactly what we’ve done over the last year and what we aim to do in the future. Watch Clare Metcalfe (Managing Director), Jennifer Clewley (ESG Lead and Community Lead), and Andy Baker (Building Maintenance Manager and Sustainability Network Lead) talk sustainability now.
Check out the numbers…
Our solar panels have produced 81,700 KWh (kilo-watt hours) of energy since we installed them April 2024. This much energy alone could:
- Power the average UK home for approximately 28 years
- Allow the average Electric Vehicle (EV) to travel approximately 374,346 miles
- Power a 60-watt light bulb for 155 years
- Run a central air conditioning unit for around 25 years
- Power a desktop computer for 449,000 hours, or over 51 years of continuous use
While incredibly important, we’re not just about producing renewable energy. We also back the larger schemes and government policies that truly aim to make a big difference, not just as an individual company but as part of the United Kingdom.
- We’re carbon neutral, eight years ahead of government targets
- By 2026, we aim to reduce our operational scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 50%
- We aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 50% by 2030
- We aim to be net zero by 2040
