Race for a Reason logoWe have a very exciting event coming up this summer! Race for a Reason is a charity event in which 10 teams of #TeamPhoenix employees will race across the Benelux region.

Based on the hit BBC TV show, Race Across the World, Phoenix Race for a Reason will have a dozen checkpoints scattered across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Each randomly selected team (made up of three people) will need to strategize to earn points based on the difficulty of each location – one point for easier stops, and two for more challenging ones. The goal is not just speed, but maximising points, with the winner accumulating the highest score by the end of the race.

This unique event combines adventure with purpose, with each team racing to raise funds and awareness for St Leonard’s Hospice. As our chosen charity, St Leonard’s Hospice provide their care for free, but it’s not free to provide.

They only receive approximately 27% of their funding from the NHS, so must raise over £6 million a year to run all their crucial services, and make sure as much as possible goes directly to patient care and facilities. Their unrivalled care is only possible thanks to the support of the public, so they are our reason for racing.

Each team is responsible for their own fundraising, with the team who has the highest amount of money winning in that category.
