Phoenix in the community: our work with St Leonard’s Hospice

For the last three years, we’ve supported St Leonard’s Hospice as our chosen charity. The charity has provided care and support for terminally ill people and those with life limiting illnesses for 40 years. Making their patients’ needs a priority, St Leonard’s focuses on helping patients make the most of their lives.

We’re planning to continue our fundraising journey with St Leonard’s Hospice for years to come. The charity’s care is free, but not free to give. Only 27% of their funding comes from the NHS, so they must raise over £6 million a year to run all of their services. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so here.

#TeamPhoenix is passionate about supporting those who need it. As such, we run a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. In this financial year so far, we’ve raised a total of £6987.81 and counting for St Leonards through a variety of fundraising events:

  • Easter raffle: a raffle over the easter period
  • Fantasy football games: hosted a series of fantasy football leagues
  • Euros football sweepstake: held a sweepstake for the 2024 Euros, with all proceeds going to St Leonards
  • Sponsorship of Yorkshire Marathon: entered several teams into the relay event, with all proceeds going to St Leonards
  • Charity golf day: a golf day sponsored by St Leonard’s with all proceeds going to them
  • Phoenix Community Day: a company fundraising event with games, food, and activities
  • 12 Days of Christmas: a company-wide game with the purchasing of raffle tickets

Supporting charities like St Leonard’s is a huge part of our commitment to supporting local communities. As a business, we’re passionate about supporting those in need and do all we can to do so while getting all of #TeamPhoenix involved.
