Phoenix in the Community

Working together with our employees, customers, partners, and suppliers to make a difference to our planet and the communities in which we work.

phoenix in the community

At Phoenix, we understand that true progress stems from collective action and a shared sense of responsibility towards our environment, society, and economy. Phoenix in the Community aims to highlight the inspiring projects, organisations, and individuals who are championing sustainability, corporate responsibility, and community development in our city and beyond.

From initiatives aimed at combating climate change and promoting renewable energy to efforts focused on poverty alleviation, education, and gender equality, Phoenix in the Community is at the forefront of creating positive change across a diverse range of areas. Through collaboration and innovation, we believe in harnessing the power of our collective efforts to address the most pressing challenges facing our world today.

Together, we can inspire, learn from each other, and amplify our impact as we work towards a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future for all.

Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS)

At its core, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS) aims to ensure that businesses not only prioritise profitability but also take into account their impact on society and the planet. This approach recognises that corporations have a responsibility beyond generating profits and should actively contribute to the well-being of the communities and environments in which they operate.

We are committed to operating in a sustainable way while also contributing positively to society and the environment. We have aligned Our Values to our CRS strategy to ensure we conduct our business ethically taking responsibility of our social, economic, and environmental impact and supporting our customers to add value through their services to their communities.

Aligning to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We understand that we need to act now to secure the future of our industry and safeguard our planet and its people, and we think that this action occurs when everyone collaborates.

At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognising them as guiding principles for building a better future for all.

The UN SDGs are a pledge to tackle 17 vital social and environmental issues – from eradicating poverty and homelessness, to preserving the planet and combating inequality – by 2030. The 17th goal urges businesses and individuals to commit to taking impactful action to address the world’s biggest challenges together and systematically.#

Phoenix has pledged to contribute to this by addressing seven SDGs.

These goals provide a shared vision for a more sustainable and inclusive future, guiding efforts to address the world’s most urgent challenges and leaving no one behind.

How we’re making a difference in the community

We attend events very regularly, often with a focus on tech careers, girls in tech, and sustainability. With our strong partnerships with education providers and dedicated organisations, we are proud to deliver sessions to young people and businesses, making sure to get #TeamPhoenix involved.

  • Provided Hull City Council with a SharePoint site built specifically for them to deliver social value for the council
  • Attended Tameside Council ‘Hackathon’, getting over 100 students interested in IT. In fact, 85% of the female hackers who showcased their skills at HACK8 said they were more likely to choose a career in tech
  • Went to IN4’s CyberFirst event, resulting in over 80% of girls who attended to be interested in a career in tech
  • Attended Tech Week Humber and led a session on sustainable cities, educating students on the importance of sustainability using Minecraft to create their own sustainable city
